To inspire action and self expression,
and discuss the sport of Western Boxing.
I am and always will be a student of boxing. Currently, I go to a gym called World Class Boxing in Kingston, PA and I’m training to compete in amateur boxing.
I started hitting a heavy bag in 2013 and was always frustrated at my lack of progress. I didn’t understand how I was supposed to grow as a fighter. I didn’t understand why technique even existed in the first place.
As time passed I started practicing yoga and learned how to listen to my body. When to back off, when to keep going. But the most important thing I’ve learned over the years is to listen to my heart. It’s pretty smart, and sometimes not, but it always leads towards greater self-awareness.
I went to Penn State Main, got the typical 8-5 job for a year, and got fired because my work declined since working in an office drains me. I ate pretty clean, but I never felt so unhealthy.
Now I’m trading options. Instead of stock trading, you buy/sell the right, not the obligation to buy a stock at an agreed upon price within a specified timeline. It’s more confusing than stock trading, but it’s a lot more fun and you can make money without ever actually buying stock outright.
I have a lot of years left to live, so I may as well be patient with my progress because objectively speaking, I don’t see a better path in front of me.
